MUSICAL ACOUSTICS

The Fausse Compagnie creates a space for artistic and scientific experimentation centred on the revival of Stroh instruments (stringed and bow-stringed instruments). Their main idea is to reinvent these 19th Century instruments. Violin makers, metal sculptors, researchers in acoustics and experts in composite materials are all included to design and then fabricate these instruments. This sharing of acute knowledge has led to the birth of these one-of-a kind, unusual objects. The Fausse Compagnie has invited two key persons who had contributed to the re-discovery of these unique sounds, Olavi Linden and Aleksander Kolkowski.

Artists Associated researchers Associated firms
