Between images and optical phenomena, Yann Nguéma presents three fascinating and poetic interactive artistic installations.

The P.R.I.S.M. project builds on two residencies that Yann Nguéma completed with the Atelier Arts Sciences. The first one, eight years ago, was an interactive exhibition entitled The Poetic Mechanisms. This entailed interactive works imagined for the multimedia album entitled Naphtaline by the Group EZ3kiel, presented notably at the Palais de la Découverte and at the World Exhibition in Shanghai. The second, in 2018, for which two works were created and exhibited at the Maif Social Club in Paris for the exhibition entitled Watch Out Intelligences! Then followed Anato-Me and Soleidoscope. This work laid the foundations for a project on a broader scale: P.R.I.S.M, an exhibition containing eight interactive works programmed for 2019-2020. EXPERIMENTA will be the opportunity to discover three of them.

The main theme that underpins this new exhibition is the use of transparent materials to associate them with the production of images. Crystal, glass, Plexiglas, resin, water, ice and smoke…are all media that lend themselves to augmenting, parasiting and filtering the legibility of an interactive show. The idea is to enrich the concept of the image through the exploitation of optical phenomena linked to transparent materials, with the overall project taking shape in a dedicated artistic space.

SOLEIDOSCOPE

Solo (alone) + eîdos (shape) and skopéô (observer).

The soleidoscope is an interactive visualisation system based on reflection. Between a screen and a light installation, it creates the illusion that the image is suspended in the transparent matter that the cube is comprised of. The spectator is invited to have an impact on the evolution of this neuro-poetic card using their hands.

ANATO-Me

Anato-Me is an interactive installation. It revolves around different types of media combining sculpture and digital imaging with a medical database (Bodypart3D).

STRATA

Strata uses layers of printed engraved glass to simulate a three-dimensional hologram. Strat is interactive so a user may use their hands to have an impact on a light scenario.
