Phallaïna

Maison MINATEC, Ground floor

A novel genre of a graphic novel for tablets and smartphones

It is animation accompanied by sound, that can be continuously scrolled down to a length equivalent to 1,600 iPads. The format was inspired by the first graphic narrative forms seen on antique murals or the Bayeux tapestry. This graphic journey is made of successive planes which follow each other thanks to a game of graphic composition. The movement is triggered as the viewers move their eyes and slide their hands on the screen. The format creates a narrative at the boundaries of cinema, animation and illustration.
The story is set in a world similar to ours. Cities have got used to the rising waters. Audrey, a young inhabitant who has visual hallucinations of giant white whales blocking her field of vision, goes under clinical tests. An inner adventure of personal transformation, mingling cognitive science and mythologies, is set forth and her fate is changed.
