EXPERIMENTA – Overview
This year, the Atelier Arts Sciences inaugurates the sixth edition of EXPERIMENTA; an Arts, Sciences and Technology show that is free and open to all audiences, at Maison MINATEC in Grenoble.
Demonstrating that encounters between the latest technologies and artistic creation can yield to surprising, quirky but also to promising inventions, triggering new ways of producing on a theatre stage as well as outside the realm of culture. These are the ambitious goals of EXPERIMENTA, the sixth Arts Sciences Technologies show.
The number of artists searching, experimenting and producing in collaboration with researchers keeps growing at the Atelier Arts Sciences as well as in numerous cities in France and around the world. Their field of experimentation covers an extremely large area. In 2016, the show will make room for projects in the fields of immersion, interactivity, energy, optics, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
Six devices are created in collaboration with CEA scientists, and over fifteen, by external teams who are invited to present their ongoing or completed works. Should you be a curious person, an amateur, geek or an expert, the show offers a wide range of possibilities: simply visiting the exhibit, meeting the project holders, participating in workshops, tests or games as well as attending themed symposia related to the projects. Come and draw three-dimensional lines in the air and immerse yourself in your drawing, project your body as an avatar in the midst of a virtual dance, light yourself with microbes or grow your own book…
Go further thanks to the MEDIALAB
EXPERIMENTA aims to go even further and involve the audience in the experimentation process empowering them with new technologies of information and communication. Thanks to the concept that the O2zone association developed in the ‘MEDIALAB’, we offer the opportunity to seize innovative devices and animate the exhibition through interaction among the project holders, partners and the audience in a multimedia space. This space utilizes simple techniques accessible to everyone, allowing you to enter the digital world in a collaborative and playful way. You will be able to discover the show in a unique way, become engaged in it as an active participant thanks to an open space, a video lab, a photo lab and a tweet wall…
