The Photonics and Optics Department at CEA Leti, in collaboration with the Théâtre Nouvelle Génération have developed an innovative visual device which can be tested at the Expo. Its basic principle is to represent floating images which create the illusion of the physical presence of the visualised objects. The device uses the latest technological developments from the laboratory in the field of data projection on transparent surfaces.
The Minatec Noon Hour will also be an opportunity to present the collaboration framework which was initiated by Atelier Arts Sciences. A scientific perspective will allow us to explore the physical operation of a device built by using surface micropatterning. This perspective will be further enhanced by an artistic vision by describing the narrative processes behind this visual experience, presented in the Artefact project.
